Connemara Country Lodge was built in 1907 in Epsom and moved to its present site on the Awhitu Peninsula (Auckland's best-kept secret) at Pollok in 2003, Connemara has been a sanctuary of one kind or another for all of its 114 years.  Lovingly restored to its former glory over the past 7 years By Kevin and Grainne. Resplendent on its hilltop position, looking out over rolling farmland and out to the beautiful Manukau Harbour.  The 300-degree views are outstanding and for you early birds the sunrises are magnificent. At Connemara, we provide a wonderful venue for intimate weddings and events with up to 100 guests. The large covered deck and park-like surroundings, not to mention the beautiful views, make Connemara a wonderful venue for your special day. You can just relax or you can go sightseeing around the Peninsula right up to the Lighthouse at the Manukau Heads.  For the children, there is a fairly extensive playground, and an area we call Jurassic Park, a place where adventures will be had. Built in 1851 by Edward Constable who emigrated from Maidstone, Kent in England. Constable then went on to apply to the Colonial Secretary for a Publican's Special License and License No.47 was granted on January 10th 1853. That same license still continues today and the hotel lays claim to the longest continuous liquor license in New Zealand. Throughout its long history the Kentish has been at the heart of Waiuku life since it was built. Auckland Transport Hop Cards are not available from the Information Centre but can be purchased at Kitchener Rd Superette and Queen St Superette. Card top ups have to be done online or at Pukekohe/ Papakura train stations.
