Come and join us at George Street Kindergarten TODAY! We are a small semi-rural centre with remarkable children, inspiring environments and quality teachers.
Our large outdoor environment offers a great natural play space that allows inquisitive minds to develop and grow amongst nature.
We believe that children learn through play. Through thoughtfully planned experiences children are encouraged to explore, experiment, discover and solve problems in imaginative and playful ways.
We provide experiences which support children’s developing knowledge of numeracy and literacy.
We embrace cultural diversity, learning about and celebrating our similarities and differences.
We are proud to be a member of Enviroschools – teaching children ways to care for the environment.
In partnership with parents and the local community we work to build a strong foundation for your child’s journey of lifelong learning.
So visit us TODAY, we can’t wait to welcome you and your family into our Kindergarten Community!
Glenbrook School provides a valuable literacy support programme called Toe by Toe that provides extra help in Reading to those students who need it. Toe by Toe is supported by parent volunteers who work one on one with each child who participates. They work through a structured Toe by Toe booklet that supports the development of each student’s reading fluency and spelling ability. Daily sessions provide the best results for our students – so we need more volunteers and we need your help.

We are a small rural school located near the Waiuku Forest. We are surrounded by stunning countryside, close to the Waikato River and Karioitahi Beach.
Historically our school has had a unique connection to the land in Otaua. That is both an historical connection (the portage, significant to the Maori in days gone by, and the dairy factory in Otaua) and a present connection through our farming families, and through the work we do as an Enviroschool. Because of this connection we have named our 4 house groups based around this environment. They are Swamp, River, Coast and Harbour.
Otaua School is 126 years old! The school was originally established in 1895 and was called Maioro school, and was located a little further up Maioro Road. The original school building is now part of the Waiuku Museum.
Our philosophy at Pukeoware School is to create a learning community where each and every child is at the heart of all that we do and say – supporting, challenging, caring for, and enhancing the lives and learning of Te Akonga o Pukeoware (The Pukeoware Learner). Through our core curriculum and a wide range of enrichment activities, we are able to provide our children with a well-rounded learning experience, which is exciting and fun. We have created a learning environment, which is safe, welcoming and stimulating, and promotes our vision of developing our children into independent, lifelong learners with skills to succeed in the future – including enthusiasm, initiative, resilience, flexibility, integrity and compassion. Our core values of Kaha (strength), Mana (pride), Aroha (caring) and Toa (bravery) are at the core of everything we do, promote and celebrate. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our children as confident, happy learners. We challenge our staff to be ‘Agents of C.H.A.N.G.E.’ – superheroes who can make change happen for the benefit of all our akonga (learners). We set high educational and social standards, and reflect on our performance regularly and carefully to ensure our approach consistently supports modern teaching and assessment. Our school has a friendly, family feel, and we always have lots going on. We have great children who are keen to learn, an excellent team of staff who go the extra mile, and a supportive, active Board of Trustees and PTA. We appreciate the importance of the partnership between home and school, and we work hard to create real opportunities for parents to become involved in the activities of the school and to create strong links with the community. Our website aims to give you a ‘taste’ of our school by providing insight into our learning community, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and students. We encourage you to take a good look around to see what we are all about. If you would like to know more about our school however, please call the school office to make an appointment to come and see us – we’ll even pop the kettle on!

For nearly 60 years, Waiuku kindergarten has been a place where children can grow their imaginations, create, explore and invent. Our kindergarten still offers a natural and authentic way for children to learn – child initiated, open-ended, play-based, social experiences. We encourage children to initiate their own activities, to wonder, ask questions and investigate further. We support learning by introducing new possibilities and role modelling language. We respond to children’s unique strengths and interests by providing opportunities for them to develop new skills and understanding as they learn about the world around them.
The Waiuku Way gives our school a clear set of school-wide expectations of how we behave and treat each other. It is embedded into our school positive behaviour culture and is evident within our classrooms, in the playground and within all aspects of our lives here at Waiuku Primary School. Together, we all want our school to be a happy and safe place of learning.
