Glenbrook School provides a valuable literacy support programme called Toe by Toe that provides extra help in Reading to those students who need it. Toe by Toe is supported by parent volunteers who work one on one with each child who participates. They work through a structured Toe by Toe booklet that supports the development of each student’s reading fluency and spelling ability. Daily sessions provide the best results for our students – so we need more volunteers and we need your help.

At Macca’s Industry Driver Training we are all about providing exceptional transport industry training no matter what level of experience you have. With our easy to learn training courses, smaller class numbers and positive attitude, we make sure that each person attending gets the quality attention they deserve. Learning difficulties or English as a second language is not an issue here at Macca’s Industry Driver Training as we have a combined industry experience of over 50 years in which we have helped many individuals’ overcome obstacles to reach their goals and aspirations. We cater to any individual or company’s needs to add flexibility and relatability to any of our training courses to help fit in with your specific needs. This includes holding training at your location or ours.

We are a small rural school located near the Waiuku Forest. We are surrounded by stunning countryside, close to the Waikato River and Karioitahi Beach.

Historically our school has had a unique connection to the land in Otaua. That is both an historical connection (the portage, significant to the Maori in days gone by, and the dairy factory in Otaua) and a present connection through our farming families, and through the work we do as an Enviroschool. Because of this connection we have named our 4 house groups based around this environment. They are Swamp, River, Coast and Harbour.

Otaua School is 126 years old! The school was originally established in 1895 and was called Maioro school, and was located a little further up Maioro Road. The original school building is now part of the Waiuku Museum.

We currently have 180 students from NE to Year 8.

For nearly 60 years, Waiuku kindergarten has been a place where children can grow their imaginations, create, explore and invent. Our kindergarten still offers a natural and authentic way for children to learn – child initiated, open-ended, play-based, social experiences. We encourage children to initiate their own activities, to wonder, ask questions and investigate further. We support learning by introducing new possibilities and role modelling language.We respond to children’s unique strengths and interests by providing opportunities for them to develop new skills and understanding as they learn about the world around them.
