Scott’s Steelworkz offers waterjet cutting, unique art, sheet metal fabrication, welding and engineering maintenance services in the Franklin Region. We are located in Waiuku, South Auckland.
How did we get started?

Scott’s Steelworkz Ltd started as a contracting company working for local businesses and maintenance shuts at the Steel Mill, but Scott was soon investigating Waterjet Cutting Machines as he’d seen them when they first came onto the engineering scene and said “One day I’m going to own one of those!” He could see the versatility and uses for the technology.
Scott and Joanne went to China to see 2 machines demonstrated for themselves. They bought a Vichor Abrasive Waterjet Cutting Machine, importing it and setting it up at 118 Kitchener Road, Waiuku. They have developed a fantastic working relationship with Vichor Waterjet Machinery Co. Ltd. This was an amazing experience for Scott and Joanne and fits into their philosophy of “No time for regrets”.
SSW has been operating for 5 years and now employs 2 young men who are keen to learn the art of engineering. The next goal for the business is to grow enough to support a qualified Tradesman to help Scott in all aspects of the Workshop.
Our equipment now includes: Waterjet Cutter, Press Brake Folder, Punch Shear, Double Pulse Ali MIG Welder, TIG Welders, Hand Roller, forming machines and soon to arrive a Powered Pipe Roller.
Scott and Joanne have worked hard to develop and grow their business and appreciate the support of their customers and the local community who help by recommending us to their customers and friends.

Who are we?

Scott
Scott served his time in the Stainless Steel Sheet Metal Fabrication Industry. He has over 40 years’ experience and specialises in Welding Stainless Steel and Aluminium.
Scott has operated CNC Turret Punches, Plasma and Laser machine and does the drawing and computer programming to run these machines. He has worked in the Dairy, Marine and Agricultural sectors specialising in custom one-off fabrications.
Scott’s interests include: Dirt Track Racing, Jetboating and Hot Rodding.
Joanne
Joanne studied Technical Drawing and Art at High School and went on to work in Banking before choosing to be a stay at home Mum to their 2 boys until they were both at school. This gave her time to Volunteer at Parents Centre, Playcentre and as a Secretary and Chair of the Board of Trustees at Pukeoware School. Joanne has worked for an Accountant as Clerk and Office Manager for 20 years. These skills complement Scott’s technical skills well.
Joanne’s interests include: Cake Decorating (icing flowers), Hot Rodding and Steampunk!
How do we do it?

Our waterjet cutting machine can cut all materials up to a thickness of 100 mm except toughened glass and diamonds! This means wood, plastic, glass, tiles, ceramics, foam and all types of steel. The advantage of the Waterjet is that it cuts without generating heat, the cut edge needs little finishing. Skill and experience equal high-quality work which is our top priority. We deliver on time at a reasonable price.

5-axis cutting is the latest in cutting technology, where the head pivots and can cut bevelled edges and countersink holes.

The shop is a non-profit organisation and relies on donations of goods from the community. Monies raised, after supporting the Church, are donated back into the community.
