Feb 24 @ 7:30 am

SunsetCoastWalkPic

Sunday 24 February 2019, the annual Waiuku Rotary Sunset Coast Walk is back!

Register on the day from 7.30am to 1pm at a cost of:
$20 per adult
$10 per college student
Free for primary children & under

You can choose from a range of course set at 5km, 7km, 8km or 11km.
Get out and burn off those summer treats, or take a Sunday stroll.

Waiuku Rotary raises money for the local community and projects. We have recently donated to local schools, the Waiuku Yacht Club and notably the Kariotahi Surf Life Saving Club.

The walk will start and finish at 207 Kohekohe-Karioitahi Rd., Waiuku, where soft drinks and a sausage sizzle will be provided. There are also plenty of pleasant areas where a picnic lunch, or brunch, may be enjoyed.
The walk is on farm tracks and will cross minor roads. These and the cliff-top (even though fenced and patrolled) are potential hazards so children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Registration can be made via mail, or on the day at the start.

Waiuku Lions Sand to Mud Run @ Waiuku Lions Den

Since 1977 Waiuku Lions have organised the 8km fun run that starts on the sands of Karioitahi Beach and ends in town.  Originally the finish line was near the tidal “mud” of the Manukau Harbour, however it now finishes in Massey Park adjacent to the Lions Station club rooms where there are plenty of activities for families.

The 2019 Sand to Mud will be called “Run for Reid” and is dedicated to fundraising for a local youngster’s medical expenses.
