WAIUKU’S BLAST TO THE PAST was fantastic!
Thanks to everyone who attended this fantastic evening.
This year, we were treated to a new and exciting ‘tailor-made’ display from one of the largest fireworks operators in the industry.
Despite the bad weather meaning a move to the Sunday 25th, we had an outstanding attendance and have had lots of feedback about how much the community enjoyed a wonderful night of entertainment.
Entertainment in the town centre featured the awesome rock band ‘Switch’, the Pukeoware School Jump Jam team, Groovit dance crew, a children’s carnival and a huge open-air market with a fantastic range of arts and crafts, clothing and gifts, plus a great variety of food and tasty treats.
The fifteen minute fireworks display took place on the Tamakae reserve at 8.30pm and was a real hit with approximately 17,000 spectators from all over the region.
The Waiuku Estuary Restoration Trust would like to thank those who gave generously with gold coin donations which will support the Mudlarks working to restore our waterways.
Thank you to our sponsors; Raewyn and Neil McCormick from Waiuku New World for the live entertainment, Franklin Local Board and Blue Sky Community Trust.
