The Waiuku 2016 NZ Steel Christmas parade was moved to Sunday due to weather and what a great day it turned out to be, with the rain holding off for us!
This year’s theme was “What Christmas means to Me” so everyone presented their own ‘take’ on Christmas with a great variey of interesting floats.
Festivities in the town centre included entertainment from the colourful “Ak Samba” marching band, the Waiuku Country Music Band and Waiuku combined Schools Kapahaka group.
The open air market with it’s wonderful array of food, arts & crafts, clothing and gifts was popular as always and lots of families had their photo taken with Santa in the town square.
This event was proudly supported by NZ Steel, Franklin Local Board and the Waiuku Business & Development Association
