“All I Want for Christmas” Proudly sponsored by NZ Steel
Saturday 14th December 2013 from 11.30am – 4.00pm
The Waiuku Business & Development Association would like to thank the community for the amazing turn out at the Waiuku Christmas Parade on Saturday. This fantastic event is kindly sponsored by NZ Steel Ltd who very generously donates thousands each year to bring some festive cheer to the community.
As normal, Waiuku creativity was as fantastic as ever producing 32 amazing floats for the onlookers to enjoy. That did not include the likes of the Pipe band, the BMX bikers, marching girls etc so once again a huge parade by South Auckland standards.
A thank you must go out to the Waiuku Country Music Band who entertained the crowd throughout the day while hundreds enjoyed the markets. Aksamba amazed the crowd with their music performance and Red Hot Cheer also with their breath taking tumbling and flip routine.
Thank you also to our judges for 2013, Vicki Woodley from NZ Steel, Deborah Andrew from Barfoot & Thompson and Colin Riddle, Chief of the Waiuku Fire Brigade. This is always a hard job choosing winners in each of the 3 categories, especially when they are all fantastic. A huge shout out of thanks must also go out to our fantastic volunteers, the Lions and the Christmas Parade committee for making sure the parade went off without a hitch.
